Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of tiny filiform needles into specific points on the body to increase energy flow and circulation. Upon insertion, the Acupuncturist manipulates the needles to stimulate the flow of energy to different areas of the body, promoting healing and improving overall circulation. In an acupuncture session, the therapist may use other techniques that they have been trained in such as moxibustion, tui na, cupping and gua sha.
Facial Rejuvenation (Cosmetic) Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture is a treatment where many tiny filiform needles are inserted into lines and discolorations on the face, as well as regular acupuncture needles being inserted into major facial acupuncture points. During a cosmetic acupuncture treatment, clients will first receive a cleansing and rejuvenating green clay and herbal facial mask. Once the mask is removed, the face is cleansed with a green tea detoxifying and antibacterial gauze and then the facial needles are inserted. While the facial needles are in, the acupuncturist then chooses appropriate body acupuncture points to improve overall health and a sense of wellbeing. Once the needles are removed, the practitioner will apply a facial cream and perform a facial massage to improve circulation and promote relaxation. The entire session lasts 75-90 minutes, depending on the number of needles required.
Cosmetic acupuncture can treat puffiness around the eyes, improve facial muscle elasticity, reduce dark circles under the eyes, reduce or eliminate wrinkles and fine lines, reduce sagging jowls, skin becomes more delicate and fair, collagen production increases, age spots fade, acne, rosacea and broken capillaries are reduced, skin tone improves, pores tighten, lifts drooping eyelids, and the whole body feels energized, relaxed, and balanced.
Your therapist will discuss an appropriate treatment plan that works for you. Generally speaking, ten treatments are needed to obtain optimal lasting results, although it varies from 5 to about 12 sessions depending on the quality of the skin and the desired result. It is recommended that the first four to six treatments are done twice per week to ensure that the treatment lasts. Once the course of treatments is completed, it is recommended that clients repeat the session every four to six weeks for maintenance.
What to Expect
Your Acupuncturist is required to perform a detailed intake as well as prepare a diagnosis in Eastern Medical terms as well as a treatment plan for the course of treatments. Based on the treatment plan, your acupuncturist will choose acupuncture points and with consent there may be the use of a combination of modalities including moxibustion, cupping, gua sha and tui na massage or shiatsu. Your acupuncturist may require you to disrobe partially or fully, and use a draping technique sheets and blankets. Your privacy will always be respected, and you may withdraw your consent for treatment at any time.

Chiropractic Care
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a branch of the health sciences which focuses upon the body’s neuromusculoskeletal system. A chiropractor is concerned with how your body’s skeletal and nervous system is functioning. Since your spine is the key highway for your central nervous system, a chiropractor is trained to use a variety of diagnostic methods to examine and treat your spine and bone structure.
Although the major focus of chiropractic is on the spine and central nervous system, your chiropractor is concerned with the wellness of your whole body. Since your nervous system determines how well you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally, many problems you are experiencing may be related to a problem with your spine and nervous system.
The Chiropractic Philosophy
Chiropractors believe in whole body wellness. Wellness means many things to different people. To your chiropractor, wellness is the state of health where your body is free of interruption or interference to any part of your nervous system, enabling you full expression and enjoyment of life. Chiropractic care works to ensure that your nervous system is working fine, and this enhances your well being.
Your chiropractor will discover any problems that are interfering with your nervous system and through hands-on-healing will work with you to eliminate them. After chiropractic care your body will be better able to heal itself. This, in turn, aids your body in maintaining optimum health and contributes to your overall wellness. Chiropractors believe in a holistic approach to health and healing, and have spearheaded this powerful health care trend in North America. (Ontario Chiropractic Association)
Counselling / Psychology / Mental Health
Psychotherapy is a general term used to describe a form of treatment that is based on "talking work" done with a therapist. The aim is to relieve distress by discussing and expressing feelings; to help change attitudes, behaviour and habits that may be unhelpful; and to promote more constructive and adaptive ways of coping.
Successful psychotherapy depends on a supportive, comfortable relationship with a trusted therapist.
Functional Medicine
Functional Medicine
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engages both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
Functional medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
How is Functional Medicine Different?
Functional medicine involves understanding the origins, prevention, and treatment of complex, chronic disease. Hallmarks of a functional medicine approach include:
Patient-centered care. The focus of functional medicine is on patient-centered care, promoting health as a positive vitality, beyond just the absence of disease. By listening to the patient and learning his or her story, the practitioner brings the patient into the discovery process and tailors treatments that address the individual’s unique needs.
An integrative, science-based healthcare approach. Functional medicine practitioners look “upstream” to consider the complex web of interactions in the patient’s history, physiology, and lifestyle that can lead to illness. The unique genetic makeup of each patient is considered, along with both internal (mind, body, and spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that affect total functioning.
Integrating best medical practices. Functional medicine integrates traditional Western medical practices with what is sometimes considered “alternative” or “integrative” medicine, creating a focus on prevention through nutrition, diet, and exercise; use of the latest laboratory testing and other diagnostic techniques; and prescribed combinations of drugs and/or botanical medicines, supplements, therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, or stress-management techniques.
Health Coach
Health coaching is about creating the space with clients to have a collaborative conversation that strengthens a person's own motivation and commitment to change. Assisting clients to create their individualized health goals, in diet and lifestyle.

Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a holistic, gentle, natural health science that is based on various laws and phenomena observed in nature. It was founded in 1796 by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician who during his career as a medical doctor, came to understand that every illness originates in the emotional, spiritual sphere which eventually manifests itself through the signs and symptoms in the physical body. With this knowledge, he founded a healing system “Homeopathy” based on the principle of “like cures like” – Homeo means ‘similar’ and pathos means ‘suffering’. He experimented on himself with various remedies available in nature and extensively recorded the results. In these experiments, he learnt that the drug substances that gave rise to certain symptoms in the human body, cured the same symptoms when administered to a patient in super diluted potentized forms. This is the principle of “like cures like”. He put together a detailed database of Homeopathic principles, theories, practices and remedial solutions based on these experiments. This forms the basis of Homeopathic treatment principles and are used extensively in our practice to provide the highest standard of Homeopathic treatment.
Homeopathic approach ensures that every aspect of your health is studied, understood and addressed to achieve your optimum level of wellness.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the assessment and manipulation of soft tissues and joints of the body to effect a therapeutic response in the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction.
It can be preventative or restorative, helping to maintain, rehabilitate, augment physical function or relieve pain.
Massage therapy has firmly established its role as a clinically-oriented health option used to relieve a variety of discomforts because it achieves undeniable results.
Massage can help alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday stress, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes.
If employed early enough after accidents involving trauma and injury, massage therapy can greatly reduce the development of painful muscular patterning.
The therapeutic process is a partnership between client and therapist, working together towards common and realistic goals.
